The Homicide Timeline is a framework for understanding risk escalation patterns in cases of intimate partner coercive control or stalking. The Timeline represents a typical journey identified in research which explains how and why risk may be escalating.
The Online Training is designed for professionals who respond to disclosures of domestic abuse or stalking, and those who manage offenders. It explains what coercive control and stalking are, and what the patterns might look like. The training focuses on the perpetrator’s thinking and motivations and takes about 4 hours to complete.
The training can be undertaken at the learner’s own pace and includes the training slides, films from Professor Monckton Smith and her team, films from families bereaved through Intimate Partner Homicide, and some interactive activities. Learners are given a certificate on successful completion of the course.
